We are all responsible to the Earth.
Now is the time to act together.
To achieve the 2030 and 2050 climate targets, it is critical to de-carbonize the current energy system. Energy production and use in the economic sectors accounts for more than 75% of the EU's greenhouse gas emissions. Energy efficiency should be given priority. An energy sector that is largely based on renewable resources should be developed to integrate with the rapid decommissioning of coal and gray hydrogen. At the same time, the EU's energy supply must be reliable and cost-effective for consumers and businesses. For this to happen, it is essential that the European energy market respects technological independence while being fully integrated, interconnected and digitalized.
